ART OF DISOBEDIENCE

"Disobedience is essentially a prideful power struggle against someone in authority over us. It can be a parent, a priesthood leader, a teacher, or ultimately god. A proud person hates the fact that someone is above him. He thinks this lowers his position."-EZRA TEFT BENSON

Disobedience is often a term with a negative connotation. This is because disobeying is often associated with going against something. Now I just want to go over a certain question. Did anyone sense the positive meaning of disobey? Did anyone dare to disobey all rules and other kinds of stuff that hindered their progress?

Disobedience is transformed into art from a pessimistic and uncooperative deed when the situation goes against and interferes with our headways. Our mind poses some difficulty to disobey off the cuff. We fear to break the rules. I am referring to the undesired social and emotional barriers that are imposed on us. Now at this moment in time, the importance of disobedience makes an appearance. Disobedience is one of our basic rights. Disobedience for progress, disobedience for rights, disobedience for change, and so on...

To be an expert in disobeying takes time and valor. It emerges on turning your hand to acknowledge your mind. It happens especially when you lend an ear to your instincts. Your mind knows everything. It alarms you when something doesn't go on its track. I often practice art of disobedience and I can now track my daily progress. I have adhered to the undesirable social stigmas and bits of advice. All of them drove me to a place where I burnt all my dreams. Even my true identity was forsaken by these barbaric and resentful norms. I know how much each and every belief transfigured us into a well-mapped humanoid. I really want to be my own soul and now a big 'no entry' board is kept for someone else thoughts and beliefs who unwantedly trying to intrude.

Most people obey because, in this highly criticizing world, everyone is afraid of one's own shadow. In reality, we wait with bated breath for people to criticize us. People who are scared to disobey are awaiting for a 'best character' sash at their life's tail end. But what they don't know is that the only thing they are going to face is regret and pain for not untying themselves to run for what they wanted. When insights are laid down to some phenomenal people it is very evident that disobeying is certainly a positive thing. Mary Kom's father did not approve of her being a boxer. He thought that she would end with a broken face which would end her marriage prospectus. When he saw her pictures in the newspaper after her first win. He still asked to give it up and take other sports. But she just disobeyed and emerged to be the first Indian woman to win a boxing gold at the Asian games.

As DAVID HENRY THOREAU said "Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves."
